Guys I'm bored so I thought I would prep by DX6i ready for when simon gets in some more EZUHF kits.
Now I've taken the back off, and taken the trainer port off to see which is PPM and GND. For those that don't know or fancy doing this (and this for MY Tx so yours maybe different!!!)
Red=PWR Orange=BATT Yellow=PPM Black=GND
As I'm going to power the EzUHF from a Seperate Lipo so I'm only going to use the Black=GND and Yellow=PPM connections to actually connect to the EzUHF

Can someone tell me how do I figure out where PPM and GND comes out on the 3.5mm socket?? I'm guessing....(this is after reading a billion different pages) that PPM will be the point of the 3.5mm plug and GND the side?
On the Curcit board PPM goes to pin 2 and GND goes to pin 1 if that helps on the 3.5mm socket

Cat, when you get the 3.5 plug your best and surest bet is to plug it into the socket and then use a multimeter (on continuity setting) to check from the PPM and GND points on the circuit board through to the new plug, that will match up the correct places to connect to in the plug.

Many thanks PK I just so happen to have one of them!!
You need a mono 3.5mm jack plug and the center pin is PPM. The outer is ground. You do not have power on the Spektrum trainer port so will need to power externally. I connected my trainer port on my DX8 to OpenLRS and it all works very well.
I also used power from my TX which gives 7.4V to power the OpenLRS.

Yep I checked all that and am happy what needs soldering where, just need EzUHF to come back into stock now lol

I'd say that with the new firmware configurator that Thundead made recently that OpenLRS is as plug and play as any UHF system gets. It's cheaper and can be customised to suit your needs
