Title: EZUHF Updating Firmware - Is it NECESSARY ??
Post by: wgt40w on March 14, 2012, 06:05:59 PM

Just received EZUHF tx & rx.

Do I need to update the firmware ? Believe this unit has only been manufactured very recently.

Surely it would have had the latest firmware installed as it was made at the factory ???

It's only necessary if you want to ensure you have the latest version.

Of course it will work out the box.

Of course they probably put the latest version in the factory but how long between it being made and you receiving it? Could be months or more.

Up until 2 weeks ago virtually nobody in the world had any EZUHF's in stock. Suddenly I found one site with them now in stock. Simon at FirstPersonView has also just got some in stock.
I think both these sites have received a fresh batch from the factory.

For 'normal' use would the previous version of firmware cause any particular problems ?

The reason I ask is not because I can't be bothered to upgrade - it's more I'm afraid of something going wrong with or after the process - just look at the number of problem posts on the ImmersionRC Support Forum.
