Title: One motor doesn’t spin, despite throttle position
Post by: ali101 on July 18, 2020, 11:55:09 AM
Hi guys,

Majority of the time my motor 2 on my 2 inch quad, doesn't spin whilst arming and still doesn't spin when throttle is up. Occasionally it will spin up.

I've checked on BF and the motor tab seems all good, for that motor, (spins accordingly to the slider)

Also my quad flips on takeoff (when that motor does spin up) so I'm assuming the motor cuts out straight after arming?

I'm running a mamba f405 mini (MK1 I think), an eachine wizard x140H esc and DYS 7500KV motors.

That sounds like it thinks it's upside down, so it tries to right itself - I bet once it flips over, the other motor stops...

Check channel reversals?

Where would I find if the channels are reversed for that motor?

Guys do reckon there would be any point in changing the ESC?

It sounds to me like the channel is reversed - if the motor spins up sometimes. Perhaps it thinks that motor is upside down and attempts to flip the quad to what it thinks is the correct orientation.

Silly question but may be fun to try ... if you turn the quad upside down and arm it, does that motor spin up by itself? If not, you can at least rule it out and at that point it probably is the ESC or at least a bad connection somewhere.

Thanks for your reply Steve:), I tried flipping it upside down and arming it but I was getting the same issue.

However a change of ESC solved the arming issue, still a bit shakey but hopefully messing with the PIDs should solve it.

Glad you got sorted :)
