Now I am working on my switches for sw1 and sw2 of the fy31.
At the moment, my triple state switch controls circle mode, rtl and nav. On a two state switch I have stabilisation on and off. BUT, I can only switch stabilisation off when the triple switch is set to nav. SO I am confused how sw1 and sw2 interact.
According to the manual my sw1 should: 1. deactivate mode, 2. stabilize mode, 3. Path Navigation
sw2 should: 1. deact. autopilot, 2. return to home, 3. auto circle mode.

I don`t understand how your triple state switch can select Circle mode, RTL and Nav when Nav is on the other SW channel.
Your triple state switch should control RTL, OFF, Auto Circle Mode. Then your other channel should be OFF, Auto Balance Mode, Nav.
The criteria for ABM or stability to be able to be turned on / off is that the 3 position switch that controls RTL and ACM must be to the off position. That`s because in RTL or ACM the FY31 has to use stabilization to fly itself.
Also you can not turn stabilization off in Nav mode because the FY again is using stabilization to fly itself to waypoints, and besides, to turn stabilization off means turning Nav off anyway because its on the same channel
Well thats exactly how i read it off the manual which is why I dont understand whats going on.
Maybe I am not reading the osd correclty. Could you tell me what the OSD should show when SW2 is in the "deactivated" state?
I'd always assumed that switch 1 (off/stability/nav) over rides switch 2 (rc/rtl/circle)
so you can only set rtl or circle if the other switch is in off
I would prefer a fw update which put rc/stability/rtl on one switch so you could get away with just one channel as Im never going to use waypoint and unlikelynto use circle mode, unless im at home, in which case rtl would do the same thing

When both switches are in the off position it says RC on screen, that means it is doing nothing and you are in full control (hopefully)
RC = RTL OFF ACM is in OFF position and OFF ABM NAV is also in OFF position
RTL and ACM channel overides the OFF ABM NAV channel

Ok I give up. I am sure its because I am too thick to understand my own TX (Futaba 7C with ezUHF) but maybe somebody can show me the light here.
Current setup:
Ch5, SW1 (Brown) - switch A (thats a dual state switch)
Ch7, SW2 (Blue) - switch E (triple state switch)
Looking at the OSD this is what happens when I throw switch E (triple state):
In ACM mode, SW1 does nothing
In NAV mode, SW1 switches between RC on and RC off
In RTL mode, SW1 does nothing
Ch7 and Ch5 work, tested them with attaching a servo, switches work, so its no electric/mechanical issue.
Coyote mentioned I needed to mix a channel into another to circumvent the missing triple state switch but I cant quite follow that. Im afraid this noob needs a push in the right direction.
ok sorted it! The trick was to use trim settings on my channel that had only a dual state switch. That way I could define what it switches from the 3 possibilites.
