Title: A little clip of yesterdays fun
Post by: Coyote on June 11, 2012, 12:43:41 PM
Well we had X8 tip stalls, Paul cloud bursting ( while keeping in LOS with me spotting ) Snowy`s Heli grass cutting, then the grass had its revenge.............. Here`s a quick taster video

No damage, the footage before it in the video was in fact the recorded footage after the tip stall. Picked her up, did the walk of shame, threw it back up :)

That looked a right off mate, good job there was no water around, I'm sure you would have found it,
Not sure if you know(prob do) but in a stall like that just turn the ailerons in the direction of the spin and power it some, you'll fly out of it, I know at the time your arse is flapping a bit but something to remember next time

Nope tried that :) Tried Daemon`s X8 advice of wait 2.5 spins then elevator down, still nothing. Full power slowed the stall a bit, but then as soon as I gave any control inputs it went straight back into high speed spin again :(

I think Snowy and Paul were right, I should have left throttle on longer, but full throttle vertical dive with earth coming up fast conflicted in my brain lol

It was in a flooded field, I had to wade up to my knee`s through it lol, I was not impressed haha

Hehehe :) All the fields were flooded, river running 20 yards to its left and it landed in a dry patch, what were the chances being one of my planes :)

I did notice before flying yesterday that my Gopro case lense was scratched, thought it would be ok, but no, spoils the HD, so if anyone knows where I can get replacements cheaper that £13.50 each ! it would be helpful :)

Congrats to Paul BTW for hitting his goal of cloud bursting. He was chuffed he finally got to do it, I hope my spin doesn`t distract from his accomplishment

Bit mental that you can get it into an unrecoverable spin, I think your new handle should be Goose

Wow that spin was brutal, and you had plenty of time to be able to recover but couldn't - wtf?

Well done Paul on the cloud busting, looked great :D

Looked a cracking day out.
I thought you were just having fun with a spin... showing us how fun it is when your lipos are tied down.. then pow. Wasn't expecting that.  :o
Does an X8 need a shute?

Nope, just needs a pilot that doesnt stall it hahah :)

I wonder how bad it would have been without lipo`s tied down......hmmmm

It was fun, and short, rain came without warning which stopped the fun :(
