Well I finally did it! What with having a hip replacement and one of the lousiest summers for years tonight I finally got my first FPV flight seven weeks after I had the first LOS flight of my Easystar.
I went up to Plough ground on top of the hill and had a LOS flight first to check trim and just to get my hand in. Then I had no more excuses, but wait a minute where are the antennae! I'd left them on the bench at home :+. So I quickly nipped back home and got them. Right come on, no more excuses lets go for it! I set up, checked the CG and launched it into the air, gained some height and then slipped the goggles down over my eyes. There was a moment of disorientation while I got used to the view and then it occurred to me that it might be a good idea to turn back while I was still in range. I flew around for a good ten or fifteen minutes climbing and descending and following the hedgerows around the boundary of the fields before setting up a circuit to land and holding off until the grass leapt up and grabbed the wings. You should have seen my silly grin!
Well done mate, no going back now :)
Too true! Thinking about groundstations and head trackers and diversity receivers etc etc.
Time to re-mortgage the house (?) tis part of the FPV process :D
Nice one Tim, we just need some decent weather now !
I still remember my first time all those years ago, maybe5 I think
Still puts a smile on my face, well done and welcome to the club
Ah nice one mate, good to see you broke your duck :)
Great feeling when a plan comes together :)

The only duck I am going to break in this torrential rain is the one by the side of the bath !!
