Is this a new version or just a new box?
i've not had any facebook spam from irc about new products and usually do when new stuff comes out, so my guess is its a new box.
probably just incremental improvements, at one time they had carbon face plates, but switch to ali ones.
Also anyone know what this cable plugs into? I'm guessing its for a head tracker or somit?

Yeah I've not heard anything either? I bought one just over a month ago (this is its replacement) & it was different to this one, didn't have red edging or nut round antenna socket.
Hopefully they've like you said made some internal improvements.
