Title: Liams 'HK-Atom'
Post by: Liam B. on October 01, 2012, 06:14:01 PM
Well as some of you know i have a HK-Atom that i brought a while back. It came in a box inside a box inside a box, then wrapped in bubble wrap. So it was fairly well packed. So i got it out and started to build it up. The quality is nice, all you have to do is wire up the motor, and glue on the tail section. Here is some pics of the build. There is carbon round all around the plane. 2 main spars are running through the fuse and along the wing, which is one piece.(http://imageshack.us/a/img38/121/s8300192.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/38/s8300192.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/a/img38/121/s8300192.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/38/s8300192.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/a/img811/9581/s8300191.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/811/s8300191.jpg/) (http://imageshack.us/a/img839/4655/s8300190.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/s8300190.jpg/) I found a small crack in the wing. (http://imageshack.us/a/img191/2365/s8300201.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/191/s8300201.jpg/) which was not a problem. Now the problems start. I can't get the esc to work nor the servo's on 2 diff recievers and transmitters which is rather dodgey as they both work on other set ups. I'm looking into this!
Update soon,
Liam

Just got one of these from the UK warehouse, I found it very very underpowered with the stock setup, that was with a #16 cam on the nose. So I've gutted the motor and ESC and I'm about to install a C20 2050kv outrunner, it should provide way too much power (just the way I like it) and push the CoG back a bit so I can add more FPV gear up in the nose :D

All in all not a bad bit of kit for under $40. That UK warehouse really is bad for me, I've just ordered a Bixler 2 as well  ;D
