Title: The new Venturi FPV Wing - from flyingwings.co.uk
Post by: mjc1970 on November 19, 2012, 10:28:46 AM
First video is a full length uncut version of the flight captured with a GoPro Hero 2

Second video is the same flight, but from the Eagle Tree OSD perspective.

Looking good!

On the OSD view what is what. Is airspeed (or groundspeed) on there and if so whaere and what units is it in?

Any more news on the Zephyr shootout?  :P

regards
Andy

Andy,

The speed indicator is ground speed and the units are in mph. It's donated by the SpG reading and is calculated using the GPS. The Altitude is a barometric sensor however and is a lot more accurate than the GPS. Everything else on the OSD should be self explanatory.

We'll be fixing up a flying session with a Z2 (Rory aka Flyn) very soon.

Cheers.

Wow that wing looks great, the video is good aswell, it was nice to play them both at the same time to see the two different views rather than just a small picture-in-picture.

Seems to be quite a stable platform, very attractive at it's price point. Having never flown FPV (YET!) is the video feed quality better in your goggles? is it sharper i should say.. With the wing being so well priced and your choice of ESC and motor (both not all that expensive), how would you rate it against the ZII? (I know we're all waiting for the fly off) but it seems to be you can buy the Venturi and it power set up and still come under the cost of a ZII shipped.

Hi Red,

Pound for £ there is no competition, the Venturi wins hands down. I watched some of my earlier Z2 videos the other night on YouTube and comparing how my Z2 flew; I'd say the Venturi is more stable on this front too (this maybe down to the Eagle Tree gear as opposed to the FY31AP); I didn't skimp on my power setup on the Z2 either!

Take a look for yourself and compare.
