Title: Oooops :/
Post by: phibin on December 13, 2012, 05:57:12 PM
The new Naza / Disco build has been flying well..

but it has felt a bit 'fly it like you stole it' in manual mode,
in atti and gps it is solid.

anyway went to the big field (that was half ice) today and had a test fly in some open space.

its 4th FPV flight, i start flying it quite hard in manual mode.....

what im more bothered about is the motor wire :(

hope it lives to fight another day, but i can see a broken wire,
fingers crossed i can do something with it..

Oooops indeed :) It should still be fine to use the motor with just one of the wires snapped, the rest will carry the current fine

do you think it will be ok?

they are only one solid wire at the esc end?
i was thinking i would strip the silcone back,
and re-wire to that point if i could? or 'fix' it with a blob of solder?

would only 2 of the 3 windings work as it is?
i thought the copper was insulated? so it wouldnt ?

Stupid me, yeah you will have a winding down. You could try a repair on it but it may be better just replacing it
