New FPV platform - easyStar with Hacker A30-12M and carbon fibre re-inforcement (first version disintegrated mid-air on full throttle  :o)

Mine arrived yesterday :-) going to start building over next few days, will have to grab some carbon by the sounds of it then,

It's probably ok to leave as-is if you're just using stock motor.

Thin cf strip is really light though - and has made a big difference.

Locations external: thin cf used on wing, tailplane, fuselage (across where servo cables exit to receiver and twisted on motor pod).

Internal: have replaced the 3mm standard snake outer with cf rod; used heat gun to bend it to correct shape (be careful  :). Separate rod carved into motor pod, and servo cables threaded through hollow cf tube.

Result is a lot more rigid than original.....let's see how we go.....

I have bought a slightly more powerfull motor but will use stock prop. I was going to put the elv and rud servos right up the back anyway to help with CofG but running the cables in a cf tube is a good idea however make sure your cables dont rub on the end of the tube as i have seen happen and cause a short when its cut through the cable insulation

Admit - thought of CF tube giving rise to interference (nevermind earthing) has occurred.

The tube is salvaged from a Skywalker - 35MHZ antenna was run external to the tube when in this aircraft and had trouble with loss of range. Hoping that just running the servo cables through tube to rx will be OK........

Running the servos leads in CF is fine if anything will shield it from EMI on all my helicopters all the servo leads run next to the chassis and its all 100% carbon. All we have to do is get the 2.4 antennas away from the carbon however i have never bothered as never once had a glitch with fasst when i was on 35meg with helis glitches where fairly common. The day i moved to fasst was the day i have never had a sinfle glitch since. However i dont fly to the extreme of its range so not going ro be as much of an issue but i have gone very high with no issue

Running inside does no harm at all, it shields the wire :)
