It worked!! UPS didn't respond to the Paypal claim, because they couldn't as it is fraud.. So I won and got a refund. So if you get an import charge, then pay it via Paypal!! Their protection works against scummy fraudsters like UPS trying to ransom you. How sad is this world now.

However, the Jet is back together after a full rewire! Pain in the ass!! Just need to find some clean fuel and set up a filtration system to clean it some more, then I can start doing some tests.

In the mean time, I built a TJIRC Mini-Q and put DJI HD on it. It has a 4s1p 18650 pack, and only pulls 20a. Looks like around 100mph, but have no OSD, so can't be sure. Amazing fun to fly. It was VERY gusty, 10mph-30mph wind, and it still flew nice.

Nice one, fingers crossed you receive a refund.

Ditto, I hope you get it all back, then I'll be doing the same, I never thought to do it that way ( when delivery is preset to that courier. )

Sadly, sometimes there is no choice as it is what the vendor chooses to use. However, like a bunch of bellends, UPS let you pay charges through Paypal, so I did obviously! I have started a claim with them first.. and if UPS don't respond there I will win by default anyway. They haven't responded so far..So it is a cheap place to start rather than the small claims court. So folks, if you get hit with charges, try to pay through Paypal, and if the charges are scam, then the courier will not be able to give an explanation and you will get them back (hopefully)! Don't pay on the doorstep, like they sometimes ask you to, say you have no cash and need to pay online and get a re-delivery at a later date, then pay the scam via Paypal.
Nice one, fingers crossed you receive a refund.

If that is the only application you will use the battery for, I would cut off the connectors, splice on a 12awg cable to the 8awg with solder, buy an EC5 connector and solder it on to the 12awg. You won't get 8awg into an EC5. Try to avoid too many connectors and use solder where you can. I have used 12awg up to 300a, 10awg will do 200a, as long as it is short. So don't worry about the current capability. You would lose more energy as heat through too many connectors, so best to only have one connection and do the rest with solder.

DHL do that trick too so I stopped using them.

If the ESC has 12 AWG cables already going from a thicker wire to it doesn't matter, they are thicker so of a higher ciurrent carrying capactity.

General Discussion / EC5 Connector 12AWG for Lipo w...
Last post by ToBack - February 24, 2022, 08:56:27 AM
Hello,
I recently bought the following connector from hobby king but I did not notice that the cable is relatively thin, ie 12AWG
My purpose was to connect a Lipo 3S 5200mAh with a very thick cable, ie 8AWG to the bullet connectors of the connector And then to the ESC I have that has a 10AWG cable.
That is, eventually the connection will be 8AWG that goes to 12AWG that goes to 10AWG.
The question is if anyone has bothered, if I will have a problem when from 8AWG I will go to a thin 12AWG cable Huh? The ESC is a 90A and the motor is the 730MX of Align. I am currently flying with the same batteries that go from 8 AWG to 10 AWG of ESC without any problems.
The other strange thing is that the 12AWG cable is glued to the EC5 not by filling the whole "glass" by gluing but by gluing the cable to the edge of the EC5. Is it the Huh gluing plate
