Just a quick post of my latest FPV,

Im new to the FPV scene and this will be about my 6th fpv flight. I got really lucky, just after takeoff I heard the Intercity horn. Panned to the left and there it was :)

The Setup is as follow:

Nice video and good timing and panning with the train. Can I ask you what the final file size of the video you uploaded to Youtube and the codec you used? I'm interested because I'm going to start to use 1080p@60fps as my main res soon

Hi JAB1a,

Yeah the file size was 90Mb.
The codec was x264vfw limited by bitrate.
Bitrate limit was 3000 kbps (As YouTubes' limit is around this so there is no point uploading anything better).
I edit in 60fps but render out at 30fps for a uploads.

Its taken a while to get some decent settings with the myriad of codecs around and retain a level of quality. Also note that a lot of the editing software around doesnt like some of the highly compressed codecs so if you're re-editing it's best to keep the original footage.

If I'm keeping the production for myself I output with that codec at 30,000kps and 60fps which gives me a file size of 600Mb.

After a bit of reading around it appears YouTube HD bitrates have increased, I should be looking at 5000kbs to 8000kbs for 1080p30, Will have to do some more research!

If you find anything on this let me know.

Thanks for the info mate, wow 90Mb with that end result!, I've been using WMV at about 20m bit rate and its been about 600Mb but it did not realise about the YouTube bitrate top end. Right off to do some research ;)
