glueing skywalkers together vs double sided tape.

Hi All

So in the process of building a skywalker 1900 and almost to the stage of joining the 2 halves of the fuse. Been stalling on this a lot as not 100% sure what I will want in a few months time and trying to cover all bases now being my first FPV build is a little hard.

So have been sticking a lot of stuff in with double sided tape. We have some really good stuff at work we use to stick sails together with. Was thinking why don't I just double side tape it together and maybe run some glass reinforced tape around the seam on the out side. Would maybe have some chance of getting it apart in the future if I wanted to re route the electrics in the tail.

What do you think. Has anyone tried this yet?

I would recommend you stick them together. The biggest issue with the Skywalker tail is torsional stiffness so gluing would be best for this. There is so much room at the front you can re-fit the electronics many times without worries. The standard glue supplied with the kit works well as does UHU-POR.

Ultimately it is a foamy so you can always cut and paste.

You don't ever need to open the Skywalker up.....

Run the cable extensions through the tail rod and glue the whole lot together.

I completely rebuilt my skywalker electronics from my glued fuselage. The front opening and side hatches give you enough space and I have large hands with fat fingers.

So yes, glue the fuselage together.

Glue every time, you wont need to get any more access than what you have with the hatch cut out the side anyway

ok ill run with the glue.
Was just thinking replacing servos would be difficult to get the plugs out of the tail and wing for that matter. But like you say can always cut and paste.

At the end of the day the plane part is fairly cheap so if I wanted to do a major could always just get a new plane and swap all electrics.
