FY21 + AP117 Problem

Has anyone been flying using this system in the cold. I was flying with someone who has the exact same system this weekend and he had absolutely no problems, but I couldnt fly mine with even stabilisation on, the artifical horizon just wandered all over the screen, even when it was just sat on the ground. I reinitialized it again which seemed to help on the ground, but in the air it was all over the place and the artificial horizon was just wandering up and down even when the plane was in level flight???? Any ideas!!!. Cheers Ian

Have you tried to use a BEC only on the FY unit alone ?
When I use the FY on the same battery as my motor\ESC it seems it dont get all the power it need.

Try that !

Did changing your power source help Ian?

Hi Simon, Going to try it this weekend, it makes sense as I am also using quite power hungry servos, where as my flying buddy who has no problems isnt. Cheers Ian

I tried an 8 amp ubec@ 5v supply to the FY21 and still got the problem with the wandering horizon. All seems OK on the ground but as soon as I am in the air the Horizon just wanders.

I dont think its just a cold problem now as the temp was +5*C. But I am using quite power hungry servos. Any more ideas, getting desperate:(

I flew again today and it did the exact same thing, artificial horizon all over the place, but I had already bought another FY21 for another model I am building, so swapped the modules and???? Perfect!!!!!! no problems whatsoever, so it has got to be a faulty FY21 module, Ive contacted Simon at FPV and Yin lets hope they agree:)
