Now before I actually cry can anyone help me or suggest anything.

I can't connect my FY41AP at all to any PC. It will not connect on the USB / setting program, not will it connect in the GUI to do the settings.

I have tried the following:

Tried a PC which has already connected to an FY41AP and successfully updated it.

Tried two different cables from two different FU41AP sets.

Connected with nothing on it.

Checked port and it is open.

Check port on my windows 8 computer and on the 8 say code 10 - that is just the windows 8 computer though, 7 is fine.

Swore at it / swore at computer!!

Hellllllllllllp please.

Well the driver is now working in windows 8 and the chip that comes with the FY41AP in the USB is an out of date one and is not supported by windows 8. However I have go another cable with a more up to date chip in it and that has gone on the the windows 8 machine no problems.

HOWEVER!!

Still no joy with the FY41AP. It simply will not connect at all and I have tried it over 20 times now.

It will not work on my friends windows 7 machine either yet his FY41AP connects up fine. I can only now presume I have a dud FY41AP.

Best get it sent back to FirstPersonView I guess?!?

Yep doing both of the above.

JwMachon has just been round and with him being some sort of computer whizz he has just about sorted it. He got another driver and it did it. He did say he spent hours.

He has got it working!!!! How I actually don't know but he has!!!

This is what FPVHUB is all about. Help someone out and they help you out!!

Thanks Jonny!!

Hi,

I'm having the same problem.  Will not connect.  Tried on Win7 PC and laptop.

1. Run FY prog (as Admin)
2. Select Port, Baud Rate & FY-41
3. Click "open"
4. Plug in UART1
Nothing.  Module flashes green a couple of times, then just double reds or mauves.

How long should it take to connect & do you still have the alternative driver?
[Installed Prolific v3.4.48.272]

Next is to try and see if the unit works at all by connecting it up.

Any ideas...  : (

It should connect instantly, what happens when you click  'read firmware version'

Nothing.  The dialog box remains empty.

I can search for the update file and the path is displayed (but this disappears automatically after 5 seconds by default).

I am not using any external power and have not entered the cable incorrectly...

I have written to feiyu-tech support for some advice and will try an XP laptop on Monday.  Meanwhile, I will endeavour to try other means...

UPDATE:  Sorted!  Thanks to good ol' Percy Verance!

On closer inspection, I was manually changing the Port from default Com1 to Com125 as this was the USB Port taken by the Prolific cable since COM1 was already in use.

However, I then disabled the COM1 Communication Port and re-assigned the Prolific Port to COM1 thus using the default COM port in the software.

Success - green lights all the way (and the unit already had the latest v1.15 installed!)

If this was mentioned in the mass of BOLD RED text instructions, then I missed it.
