What UHF Sysytems are legal for both UK & USA

Hi,

This internet lark is way too big for me. Seem to be spending hours searching for answers.

Can anyone tell me if there is a UHF system legal in both the UK & the USA/Canada.

With the 35/72Mhz stuff it is clear that 35 is UK legal & 72 is USA/Canada legal, however I can not use 35 in Canada nor 72 in the UK.

Is it as simple that 459MHz is legal for model control in the UK & 433MHz is illegal. Vice versa for North America.

If this is the case and I can not find a UHF sytem to take from the UK to Canada and stay LEGAL in both continents I'm screwed!

Please let the FPV gods shine on my credit card and let there be a system that I can tune on switch for both countries!!

That's the great thing about standards, there are so many to choose from!

You could use an EzUHF and reflash the firmware when you cross the pond.  It's a two minute job with a PC.

Yea, I know, Canada is a big place but are you going anywhere near Montreal, there is a thriving FPV community in Quebec, we had our first FPV meet last summer, hope to have another one soon. I agree with Simon's recommendation for EzUHF if you don't already have a 35MHz Tx that you could put a 72MHz module in it. 72MHz is going so rapidly out of use there is plenty of cheap new and used kit around here.

Simon, is there athread about flashing the FW on the EzUHF please.

One last thing. If I buy a 72 Futaba module and a 35 Rx is it as simple as putting 35 crystals in them both?

Get the synthesised Tx module(s) and you can dial up any channel you want (no crystals req'd).
Simple plug n play.

LS: I'm also from Beverley. Born in the Westwood hospital.

There is no thread about flashing the firmware. You just load the software, plug in the EzUHF and press "update firmware" basically.  The process is described in the software.

Devonian: I've never used a synthesised Tx but on the Rxs you can synthesise a channel but not a whole frequency change.  EG if I have a 35MHz Corona Rx I can't get it to synthesise 72MHz.  Is this different with the Tx modules then?

No. That's not possible. (As far as I understand it anyhow).

I was refereing to the modules for the Futaba T9 etc.
The synthesised module for the Futaba T9 etc can be had in either 35MHz or 72MHz flavours.
The module only covers the one band, so 2 modules are needed to cover 35 and 72.
