Hi
This is my first post as a newbie, I am busy modifing  my hal with the naza lite. Just a simple question on my previous installation with openpilot I took out the live (red) wire on 3 esc.s on the inputs, do I need to do this with the naza lite controller.

Your Naza Lite outputs its own 5v supply to the output side so remove all the red wires for all the ESC`s as none are needed

Thanks for the reply, I did not realise that all the red esc's wires have to be removed. There is no mention of this anywhere in the manual or even on instructional videos on the net. I presume this is standard practice for all naza's

the manual assumes you're using the DJI ESCs which are OPTO type ESCs, this means they don't have the built in BECs that supply the 5v.

Based on a previous post that stated that they are not used by the Naza, I left all my red wires connected and it looks a lot tidier. No issues seen in over one year of flying with the Naza.

the centre pins in the naza are probably not connected to anything in that case.

The center pins carry 5v generated by the Naza's 7.5amp internal Bec

That would indicate your ESC Becs are linear Becs then.

Update
Managed to do finish all the wiring and the setup with the switches etc today and a motor test, everything seems ok. Just the failsafe to set, cannot get it to go to failsafe when I switch the tx off but I will spend some more time on it tonight. One question when binding do I put the throttle just above half stick for the failsafe to work correctly?
