Which is better?

has anyone used the e-sky phoenix for fpv or is it better to modify a multiplex easy star with ailerons ect. I'm looking for a stable, easy to fly plane for my first FPV.

I would go with the easy star as you have loads of mods and some great ideas you can copy off with photos ect

Make sure you check all the forums and youtube before you glue it together

I wasn't able to find any :(  I know a few people stocked them on and off and a few were on ebay, but it's just as easy to order them from China, only takes a week, 2 max to arrive.

BEVRC offer free shipping on orders over $200, so it only takes a few extras like motor, ESC, servos etc and you are there. Hope you got deep enough pockets for FPV.

I have bought a Hobby King FPV. As "cost effective as chip" finish a little rough but cost well, about $70 I seem to remember. Yes what about shipping costs, well buy from Germany unit price up a tad but shipping down a lot.  I am in the process of carrying out lots of mods during the build and will try and do a build log at some time in the near future. So much to do so little time. Initial observations. Finish not so good, size impressive 1.8 m span 1.3 m long, Fin and rudder a little small, fus side quite a slab will cause turn problems probable require lots of left thumb in turns, instructions Chinese so not problem then :P Lots of room but a little narrow. Will probably end up heavy need about 400 w to fly well I recon and it wont be a floater. If any one else has built please share any probs as I will endeavour to do.

Looks like it has all the space you need and was purpose built for FPV. I think its a better way to go than modifying an "off the shelf" trainer - probably work out to be the same cost in the long run too

Found a better review than I could do at: The Hobby King EPP FPV RC model plane, part 2 of the review should have known about this guy some time ago if you can stand the "Down under accent" he has got a lot of very good stuff to say.
