Hi

Here's a mini version of Sheldon's Flying Wings Storm.
I think it will be a little "twitcher" then the storm though and I don't think there is room for OSD ect but I expect it will be fun  :o

Hehehe!

Good job. I like how it is all instantly removable. Just make sure the camera is completely level an pointing straight forward. It's a bitch to get it lined up exactly but it makes a surprising difference when flying, as you tend to line up the horizon with your visual references of the plane, which in our case is the line on the side of the screen if you follow me.

Looking forward to the videos!

Nice little setup you have there :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

roofmonster

Thanks Guys

I see your point about the camera position and visual references Sheldon so I have positioned it so you can just see part of the nose in the frame and as level as possible. I think I will try it LOS to start with though.

Oh yes. All test flights LOS :)

I was pretty impressed with this little plane today. It flew very well, and I think the extra weight of the video gear is unnoticeable in flight. Now we just need to sort out the receiver problems and get it FPVing. See if you can fly in formation with my Storm... But once you get some expo on the elevons  :)

roofmonster

Yes Sheldon , I was surprised that the extra weight and drag made no difference whatsoever but I think I will need elevon expo to fly it FPV.
I tried the receiver when I got home and it worked faultlessly but I think I will change the antenna in any case as they are a bit on the flimsy side. I will also solder some cables directly to my "Archos" as I think the problem was the socket and not the cables themselves. Would be good to fly the 2 different wings in formation and perhaps we could find someone who has a Slipstream FPV or perhaps a Nano Slipstream FPV !! it would make some interesting video footage.
I will post the video of how my VRx lipo was damaged, and you can see what happens when a rudder servo fails!
Was a shame that the elements were against us today but it looks like we're not the only ones if you are watching the F1 in Canada .

Sheldon Holy

Ouch. Yeah that would surely dent a Li-Po :)

Do you have any remains that could be modified?

Sheldon

Yes I have rebuilt the centre of the wing and repaired the fus. Just need to recover the wing and its back in the air.

Coyote

Not so bad then, good to see it will be back up soon enough  :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Yes it only pulled the trailing edge and wing mounting plate out of the wing and the lipo damaged some of the fus on its rather rapid exit.I have beefed it up when I repaired it so it can take the extra weight of FPV gear  I will of course replace the servos that caused the problem in the first place.
Looked worse than it was!
