2 weeks off sick and can't fly... Gutted.

Hi gang,

I got rushed into hospital on bank holiday Monday with abdominal pain,  ended up having my gall bladder out.  Signed off for 2 weeks but and here is the but.  I am not allowed to drive.  No flying for me then.

I have satisfied myself so far by wiring lights to my disco,  re doing the apm install on my easystar and tidying up the cave but it just doesn't cut it.

Kids are back to school tomorrow so I'll be out in the shed...

Just had to vent :P

Hard luck, but just as well you weren't away on holiday in some foreign land. I wish you a speedy recovery. One of the best therapies I can think of is to build a nice new model slowly and very carefully. It will take a couple of weeks and whilst you're recuperating you'll look forward to flying it. A bullet proof excuse for a new toy I'd say :D

Bad luck on that piece of news hope you recover soon ok, i just joined the useless yesterday after cracking a rib whilst trying to remove a rather heavy gearbox so i,m laying flat on the bed at the moment of typing this  :(

Agreed on the new toy idea. I may have to get a taxi to the model shop.

Does anyone know if you can fit an apm and all the associated crap into a twin star?

I really fancy one and my easystar is getting a bit porky with apm and fpv on it.

I have a storm osd in mine Steve in the fuse had to remove some foam to make room etc but works well

Yeah you could get an APM in one, would need a bit of thought and careful planning to get it optimal, but time you have :)

Aye,  and living less than 3 miles from Sussex Model Centre doesn't help...

I was thinking of a z3 but I have fancied a ts2 for a while and they have them for 215 as a kit with everything except lipo and rx. Sounds like a nice little project.  I'll see what the wife thinks:-[

True I still have that to go wrong at a later date.

I put in my funjet at the end of last summer so as I had a motor and esc going begging I bought a new airframe kit  and have whiled away some happy hours making and painting that.

I thought I'd come up with a nice original colour scheme and then when I logged into the hub last night saw a photo of it in the top corner  I was convinced it was orange...  So sorry for plagiarising a colour scheme.

I have managed to get a Fatshark camera 250mw vTx and a suppo pidgeon OSD into the canopy and it still balances well with a 2200 pack.  My last one flew for around 9 minutes on this configuration and I am not sure I could do longer flights prop call shows a pitch speed of 150+ mph with a real flying speed of about 115. So it should be pretty exciting.

Just got to set up the radio and she is ready to go.
