Hi all,

Having reduced my faithful zephyr 2 to more than it's component parts last night, I'm looking around for a UK supplier for another but can't seem to find one.

Are they still being produced or is it just Z3 now ?   Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

p.s. Would be interested in any suggestions for an alternative similar wing.  Something that will handle a bit of a wind, can get a far lick of speed with but maybe not such a faff to put together.

The Rite wing store still lists the Z2 http://www.ritewingrc.com/products.html
I have a Z2 and a Z3 and the Z3 is by far the better flier and sooo much easier to build, not seen a Z2 on a UK site but I'm sure there will be one somewhere.
The Z3 feels easier to live with as well, might be time for a Z3???

Skyhunter, Drak, Mini Talon, Z3, Z2 and 250 Vortex. :overexcited:

Venturi Evo from Flyingwings.co.uk?

I'll second that. There don't seem to be many differences in what the two wings can realistically carry (vent and Z2) and the Venturi is a much better size. It's also proper EPP which is superior to the moulded stuff IMO and the ply fuselage won't be crumpling on landings. Also no worries about the batteries shifting forward and weakening the nose like on the Z2. And it's cheaper and much easier to get spares etc... with FW being in the UK.

The Z3 looks very well thought out and the main advantage seems to be that it breaks down easily. It certainly seems to fly like it's on rails but my Vent with a slightly forward CG flies just the same. The vent went together very easily and could be easily modified to have removable wings. But out of the Z2 and Z3 I'd deffo go for the latter.

Would be interested in the advantages of the Z3 over Z2.

Is the venturi really that different a size to the Z2?

The venturi foam is probably better than Z2 (I have no experience of the latter) but there are different grades of epp and ime the venturi isn't the best.  Z60 is better ime.

I love the venturi having said all that.

Thanks guys,  I'll mull it over for a day or two.  I'll have a read up on the venturi too.

Got lots of bits here from the Z2 to go into a new airframe....
