Hi all,

I am looking to build a Skywalker 1900 for FPV and am not sure which system to put into it for flight stabilisation and or RTL?

Sorry if I have put this in the wrong section, but not sure if it is an autopilot I need or not?

Any advice or help will be most welcome.  Looking to build it over a few months so no major panic on time, but HK have now got the kit in stock in the UK warehouse, so seems a good time to start.

Will be using the FrSky L9R to start with immersion 600 TX and BlueBeam for video.  Not sure yet but may move up to UHF once I am content with it.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Buster.

I've ran both MyFlyDream AP and APM:Plane on an HK Mega Mini APM clone. Both did a really good job with little in terms of tuning. Also both of those fit in the top section the wing slots into so was a really neat install.

The Skywalker's a really capable airframe so deserves an Autopilot with RTL capability.

Thanks guys, guess autopilot and RTL are the way to go.  :D

Eagle tree vector or my fly dream.

Both are awesome. I think I prefer the vector by a margin- although I'm not good enough to make the most out of either system. I should spend far longer learning how to get the most from them.

Will, have to take a look at system v's cost and my limited ability  :D

Thanks again.  Very informative.

I'd throw in the Cyclops Tornado and Storm as well (I prefer the Tornado) as it's got everything you essentially need and is quite cheap and PNF, no 'need' to tune it (except for the initial calibration and all) :)

You'll probably end up getting a vector, but I'm happy with my Cyclops Tornado ... it's fairly cheap (£100ish) and has RTL, stabilisation, waypoints etc.

Fits no problem in the Skywalker 1900 too.

Buster46

Looks like the Cyclops is much cheaper.  Will have to do some research  :o

Thanks I think. .......

BlueFlyer

FY41AP lite is under £100 too, provides stability and rth also

Definitely not a simple choice.

Can anyone tell me if the S Bus out on the FrSky L9R will work with the Cyclops Tornado?

Thanks in advance.

Should work fine. Plug your Rx into the 'RUD or BUS' port and then set the SBUS option to 'Y' in the Tornado menu:
