Hi Guys

The MTD finally arrived and looking at my Turnigy / Towerpro MG90s I feel I could do a little better.

I'm looking for something the same size, but digital and definitely metal geared.

Is there anything under £10 a pop in this bracket?

These are 70p over budget but work a treat in my Trifecta Tail.

They are a bit heavier, but worth the extra bit of weight.

Although I have had these in quite a few aircraft (i know they are only analog) latest being my Skywalker 1900mm
But none of these have failed on me, stripped gears or owt yet!

I may even have them in my mini talon, will have to check.

The problem with Hobbyking is shipping. Order a few servos they weigh few grams and shipping cost as much as the goods are worth. Last time I bought metal servos from banggood I was surprised they are full 360 degrees. I don't like that sail winch servo for pan and tilt so may be using them instead.

These are not the same I ordered but they are in EU/UK warehouse so you get them fast, free shipping and within the budget:

These are quite promising as well:

Never tried them myself, but there is a good word for them around for larger aircraft :)

Sheldon Holy

We have Newpower servos which seem to be very good quality and within your budget too. If you call up sussex model centre tomorrow and ask for Sheldon then I should be able to help :)

I'll never ever use new power servos.

They failed on my brand new skywalker x6.
As I watched it meet the earth very fast.

I have some of  those Emax servos, not found anything to use them in yet.
They were going in a hk 450 heli for my son to learn with but didn't fit lol.

True about hobbyking,
But I always find something to add to my order.
Usually extra batteries, glue, the odd plane lol.

The Hitec HS65 is 50% over budget but I always use Hitec Servos in stuff I care about:

Hi Guys!

Thanks for all the good advice etc. I was seriously tempted with the Turnigy digital MG's from HK but can't find a review anywhere.

In the end I went with the HS-65B's from Sussex Model Centre. Sheldon was not available to chat - they said he was busy cleaning toilets, but a chap called Dave got me sorted in no time! :)

Not cheap, but then neither am I :)

That is actually untrue, he was in the basement redesigning a 600mW Vtx ( based on an inferior design ) to single-handedly take down ImmersionRC as world leaders of FPV equipment.

Its Top Secret, code name "Toilet duties" :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Poor Sheldon hopefully he does not get stuck in all of that sh*t.

Anyways OP reads:

"Is there anything under £10 a pop in this bracket?"

And towards the end of the story:

"Not cheap, but then neither am I :) "

It is an appropriate time to cite Dirty Harry: "The man's got to know his limitations".
