Gusts were blowing me all over the place - landing approach was like being on a roller coaster. But the sun came out and I couldn't wait.

Fantastic that !
Did you land it FPV?
Can't be easy to judge the approach with all those instruments in the way!!
:)

Dillwhacker - it would probably be truer to say I crashed it FPV, but yes I land and take off with goggles on. I end up right ways up about 2/3 of the time but on this approach I'm just glad it's in one piece as I couldn't keep wings-level at all.

Well you did well dude - I find take-offs quite tricky FPV, but I just love the approach & landing.
But most of my landings on a Laser Arrow result in a broken prop TBH..
At least you flew - I stood around shivering and saying "it's too windy" and went home...
Nice one, well done.

Would it be worth fitting a stabiliser unit you could switch on and off as needed ??
You learn something new every day.

Works well on couple other models so I'm goin to see if I can fit one in - the fuse on this bird is already bulging so not sure where it will go but going to have a butchers.

Just out of interest what airframe is it (kit of the mossie) and where did you pick it up?

Parkzone. Bought it used from eBay - £100 PNP including the optional Eflight retracts already fitted. Not a mark on it - got lucky with an absolute bargain as they retail for c£180 without the retracts.
