My nephew and his pal where out for a quiet drink in Glasgow last Saturday night, early doors. On the way to get a taxi about 10 ish they got set on by 3 wee scheemy Neds looking to give some older guys an easy kicking and probably try to lift their money.

Unfortunately for them they picked on the wrong two. My nephew is a 28 year old Royal Marine PTI and his wee pal is a Royal Navy SBS instructor, both box for the services but to be fair, in civvies look pretty ordinary.
Needless to say the outcome was rather one sided! My nephew and his pal got home on time and safe! Don't think the other three did though. Apparently they got a rousing round of applause from the taxi Que..

I don't think the scuffle lasted long, they didn't leave the scene, the old bill turned up along with medics, 2 unconscious and 1 with a broken jaw and dislocated shoulder crying for his mummy. Not a scratch on our two. No charges from the old bill on our 2 but they may face civil charges from the "victims". Witnesses statements and there is mountains of cctv in Glasgow, show they where just defending themselves and one of the Neds had a police baton, he's the one with the broken jawbone. In my book they where lucky as these 2 train squaddies to kill. I would love to see the cctv.

I could imagine it being like some sort of Jet Li movie! :)

I bet the CCTV footage would go viral!  Latest news is the twat with the baton has been charged with going equipped with an offensive weapon, all three with ABH and causing an affray. My nephew and his pal have been cautioned and may face charges if their actions are considered excessive by the Prosecutor Fiscal. I am told that they just stopped when the threat was extinguished and used "Reasonable Force" bearing in mind that these twats jumped them from behind.  Crap end for the boys on the last night of their leave! No doubt will have repercussions in their jobs as well.  My nephews off on an exercise up in Norway now and pals back on board hi ship trying to save boat people.

I think if the prosecutor has any wit about him at all, he'll recognise that a reasonable person doesn't go out innocently armed with a police baton, and that your nephew and his mate had every right to open up a can of whoop ass once threatened - repercussion free.

There's a saying... "don't start something if you can't finish it". Hopefully those gimps learned a lesson

It's a sad fact that some perpetrators assume the role of victims when they end up on the receiving end by the likes of your nephew and his friend. It certainly seems that those two RN boys pegged the level of response just right. Long may they protect our shores and taxi queues.  :)

This is my favourite... one horrible thug smacks this lad's girlfriend "pretending" to do it by accident.... what happens next is quite simply awesome...
