So I'm at the point where I'm wanting to chuck everything out and start again - not my planes, but the random assortment of unlabelled components, screws, servo leads, motors, attachments etc that I've acquired over the last few years.

The reason? I have no idea where anything is! I know it's there somewhere, but whenever I need something I can't locate it. Or half of it is in one place, the other is buried in a tangle of wires, LEDs, etc.

Lazy me says "pick it all up and dump it", get a nice new filing system with jars and trays and start as I mean to go on (like I should have in the first place) because I really can't be chewed to sort it all out. I want nice shiny packets and boxes. New stuff comes pre-bagged :P

What do you use to keep things in an orderly fashion? It's amazing how much crap I've accrued over the years...

Low end - boxes and sorting trays from the £ shop. Cheap and flimsy gut do the job for bits and bobs.

High end - Sortimo and stanley sorting trays. Come in variety of sizes and shapes and are very solid/secure.

Also a wall mounted (which isnt actually mounted) modular storage drawer thing. Cant remember what its called but you can add more rows and layers as you need.

Looks similar to this:

Even with all my storage, i still collect lots of random things. Which is why i have to constantly go thru it all and sell bits.  ;D

I've got lots of small and large plastic drawers and boxes....  But still manage to get myself into a huge mess of not knowing where stuff is

English Turbines

Bisley Metal Drawer Cabinet.

These drawers are on ball bearing runners....Really good for keeping small parts in.

Not cheap, about £90 but nicely made.

Zip lock bags in 70l stackable plastic boxes

I have a few different stackable boxes. A large multidrawer organiser. But I need a lot of shelving next. Lots of because it's starting to get a bit crowded on the floor :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

I actually need a way of storing my planes neatly. I tried the "fully assembled, hang on the wall" method, but ran out of space because my planes are all pretty big lol

I need (and will prob have to custom make) a unit or shelving system that can hold 3 or 4 x fuselage and their wings

Wow Paul, you're an inspiration heh.

Thing is, I noticed "The Mess" when building my mini talon - I knew I had stuff, I just didn't know where and if I'm honest, I couldn't be bothered looking which is why it took so long to get started

Nothing like starting a project with everything to hand. Looks like I need a trip to poundland at the weekend - what's the betting I come home with loads of:

Mini screwdriver sets
Crappy LED flashing things (with a plan to make them useful "one day" )
Custard creams

:)

Really useful boxes for me  :) come in all sizes and you can sometimes pick them up cheap in B&M stores or on special offer in stapples. Gradually getting more organised but there's always something i can't find. oh and a label printer as my handwriting is terrible lol
