Those of us flying the Vector, has anyone had issues with GPS this week? In particular, slow to lock, low sat count, GPS loss in flight, erratic compass..
I know of myself and one other in a different part of the country with similar problems this past week, was wondering if anyone else has?

If this week includes last Sunday PKSurfing and myself had a quick lock and plenty of satellites. Think Paul commented on having 19 sat's before launch. I had 16......

That was NE England.

Yes. Last Sunday lost GPS but found my way home, this week I have flown a couple of times and had low sat and losses. I'm south west.

Richie is right, that was my Vector that I've recently fitted the newer GPS puck and it had 19 satellites in no time.

Same plane the week before was struggling to get 9 satellites and this would drop when flying round and then go back up to 9 or 10.

I have only used the V2 GPS.
Didn't you say you have just updated your firmware too Paul?

It was the Crossfire firmware I'd updated (to 1.40)
Eagletree is current version I think.

I had a flight yesterday afternoon, about 2pm ish, with my Mini Talon, and Vector (V2 gps, not exactly sure of the firmware, but probably the latest non beta version).  The initial sat lock was a few minutes, no more than usual (it was a new flying site).

I did notice that during the flight, the normal return to home arrow, was replaced with a question mark a few times.  Sometimes for around 30 seconds or so.  The little map thing on the display seemed to pause at the same time, and the gps coordinates were frozen at the time.

It did sort itself out, and I didn't try any of the GPS assisted flight modes whilst it was suffering from a GPS loss.

Hmm.. okay. It's been suggested that high solar activity is the cause, but if its only affecting a small number, maybe not??
I'm off for a fly on Wednesday once the weather improves so I'll find out if there is any change. Failing that, I will be going back to EagleTree about it.

I did another couple of flights last night, and had one GPS dropout that replace the home direction arrow with a "?" symbol.  It lasted for 10 seconds ish.  The GPS bearings were also a little unstable, with the aircraft heading (according to my FPV cam) being relatively stable, the direction of flight compass thing was swinging round up to 150 degrees or so.

This was at fairly low ground speeds though (I was flying fairly high, with an estimated wind speed of around 45mph).  The ground speed indicator was around 5-10km/h into wind, and around 95km/h downwind)

I had no issues with the flight, but again, I didn't test any of the GPS assisted flight modes.
