The Bixler 2 is a dog of a plane. The 1.1 flies way better. I've not seen a 3 but I like to think they remembered what a good thing they had with the 1.1 and simply made it more FPV friendly.

They really did Steve... one of the main improvements in my opinion is the wing removal and retention method. By having a one-piece wing that you place on top of the fuselage (like a skywalker) they've made it much easier to access the area of the fuselage under the wings without the need for any DIY hatch cutting.

I cut a side hatch in my Bixler and Bixler 2, the Bixler 1.1 in my personal opinion was exactly that... back to the original bixler concept and not really meant for FPV but it was a good flyer and an improvement (I read or watched a vid that Josh Bixler himself said that the 1.1 was for the learners who didn't want a FPV plane).

The Bix 3 was designed for FPV from the get go and it shows.

Yeah quite correct Chris
It has bags of room under the wings for all the electronics etc and with the small parts cnc motor mount allows for a 10 inch prop so performance isn't going to be a problem, also the slight cut away if the foam for the 4S is making this bird pretty decent in all aspects, just hopes she flies as good as everything else 🙏

Hi everyone,
New here.
Mathieu from South of France.
I've seen this thread and it looks like you guys will be of good advice to help me chose what battery to buy.

Proud owner of a stock PNF Bix3 I intend to load a bit with FPV and auav-x2 (smaller pixhawk) with GPS, telemetry...
I had turnigy 2200 mah 3S batteries (30-40C). They're almost dead.

Any recommendations about what I should buy? 3S or 4S?
Are the stock ESC and motor 4S ready?
I haven't done the tail servo mod so far.

Thank you so much for your help.
Have a nice Sunday.

Stock motor and ESC are junk IMO, I'd recommend buying good a quality motor and ESC combo then you can customise it to suit your needs. I've got an SK3 1040kv in mine currently with a 40amp Overlander ESC running 8.5x6 master airscrew GF prop. The motor is mounted on 10mm standoffs to assist with prop clearance.

Thanks :)
Just ordered a sk3 2836 1500kv and I have a plush 40A lying on a shelf.
And I'll stay 3S for a start.
Thanks for your advice!
