Got my Sharkbyte system the other week and maidened last weekend.  I've added a heatsink to the VTX to keep one of the chips cool - they get untouchably hot.
It seems when everything heats up, you tend to lose range and quality.

To be absolutely honest.. that looks a little worse that a top end analogue system, certainly no better. The image is incredibly disappointing compared to the DJI system. I can't see this being a success for Fatshark.

The receiver is perfectly capable, but the VTX options are poor at the moment.  Only the whoop sized VTX seems to be available to buy.  The lack of camera choice available is also a disappointment.  It needs a mini sized camera with a bigger sensor and lens.

Latency is very low though, probably lower than analog.

Its like a poor analogue system with digital interference.
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

That video has put me right off the system. Can't see it catching on.

This video is in Russian (I think) but it's pretty damning really..

Sharkbyte currently looks best in proximity situations ie: on quads, racing etc.  My friend is using it on a quad and there is a definite improvement on the image over analog.  However, penetration is hopeless, even at 200mw.  It will struggle getting through thick foliage and the video loss is almost instant, with not much warning.  More power is needed.

It's clear this system has been designed firstly for racing rather than for general freestyle or other applications.  This is a somewhat limited customer base.  Their next update is on 20th March if they stand by their word of bi-weekly updates.  We shall see where the roadmap takes them.  They need to be taking a leaf out of Elon Musks book though and start working 80hr weeks to catch up with what DJI are doing.
