I've had a JP Seagull 2200 electric glider for ages and it's been gathering dust, got it out for a few LOS flights the other week and decided to swap the humungous brushed inrunner motor for an outrunner.

The brushed can motor weighed 175g, the 35-30 1400kv inrunner only weighed 80g so I ended up having to put 100g of lead weight in the nose to get the C of G right.

I fitted the outrunner inside the nose of the glider in the same place the big motor came out off.

It flies like a rocket with the new motor but I decided I wanted to move the motor forward and mount it on the front of the nose bulkhead to move the weight forward and maybe loose some of the 100g lead weight.

Once fixed on the nose it also cleared space inside for the 2200 3S lipo to move forward, these changes ended up balancing spot on so I've been able to dump the 100g of dead weight.

I've fitted the 1g camera (from Simons shop) on the end of a strip of CF 6mm x 1mm which id fitted into slots cut in the plastic fuselage, I've done this to lift the cam up well above the propeller arc.

As it has a folding prop I've had to fit a second strip of CF for the folded prop to slide over when it starts up again, so it doesn't rip the camera post off.

Small 5.8 Vtx with clover leaf has been robbed off my Trex 450 FPV heli (as was the 1g camera)

So its all ready for it's maiden.

Here's some photos....

can't get this photo the right way up (it's upside down when I look at it)
I've rotated it 180 in Photoshop and reposted it but I still see it upside down, it's uploaded using the Forum photo upload 'postimage.org' link so don't know.

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days lived

Looks very light mate, should be a blast :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

with all the FPV gear and moving the new motor forward it's actually ended up 100g lighter than when it first came out of the box.

If it flies ok FPV I'm going to stick an OSD in there and have a go at G's 400ft glide time (before you get your new glider in the air  ;D )

Yep, that settles it then - it's a glide off! Time to get a new spar for my Easy Glider
