after 5 weeks of messing around im finally finished ,been putting a few hours here and their . it balanced up perfect right to left and back to front with out even planing the cg out as i was building. ;D i got the gopro in the case and it works really nice too, i  have seen to many people smash the lens on landing with out using it. just a few pics and will add a vid the weekend when i get round to maiden  her ;)

Nice zed mate! Looks like a tidy build, just be careful on the launch, I had a few bumps throwing mine.

Also me & a couple of other guys with zed's have found that fixed props give for better performance than folding ones, fixed are fine to use as they always come to stop in line with the wing on landings. But it's down to personal preference.

Thanks Flyn I have heard they can be a pain to hand launch but I had the z1 and I never had a failed launch and I also have the FYI 20 a onboard just to assist my hand launch, I like the look of your launcher that's a smart piece of kit but I have to carry far to many thing to my flying areas any way plus I usually take off half way up a hill ,     I will try using a fixed prop what size r u using and shall I still keep my break on my esc?    Cheers peweepete

Cool no worried mate - sounds like you got it covered. Yeah the launcher can be a bit if hassle. It's just I hate throwing mine for it to plop on the deck giving it a bloody nose.

I'm running a 9x6 on 4s (for 3s use 9x7) yep keep brake on it should help stop it inline with the wing.

Don't be scared to hand launch (unless coyote is aroun, then it will end up a disater  :laugh: ).....

I throw mine up every time and have never once chopped my arm off or crashed it. It do have the bumpers on and use them to hold it and have two fingers towards the back to balance it...EASY!!!

THEY ARE A GREAT WING and solid prop is defo the way to go.

 I am going to get a fixed prop after all the good advise I'm looking at a apc prop 9+6 , witch will i need they do thin ,sport ,pusher ? Also my shaft is 5 mm what size prop adapter do I need,  thanks :D

Miss my Z2 (both of em!) after watching these videos.

I almost bought a new one, thinking the TBS battery box might fix alot of the strength issues, but I heard TBS are developing a wing so holding out for now. Otherwise not sure what I will do. I definitely want a new GoPro capable wing but it has to be damn strong for me to consider.

Just go for your run-of-the-mill standard apc Electric 9x6, mount it with the text on the prop hub toward the front & ensure your motor is spinning it the right way & it'll do just fine. The APC should go straight on make sure you add one of the supplied spacers into the rear of the prop hub so you get a stable fit, then add a fixing nut & your all good to go.

Made some mod's to mine, launch hook bolted into homemade battery box (less bulky than TBS!) through the foam belly & added a bit of foam behind the gopro as to smooth out the airflow over it.

So I finally got to maiden the zed, launch was easy with the fy20 a went straight up , but the fog was so bad I didn't know if I was upside down or where I was going, had to land straight away, but it looks like she flys well and everything is working right. ritewing zephyr maiden fpv
