Just setting up my EZUHF and done some land based range testing with the stock tx and rx aerials

I am getting 0.85miles in test mode 20mw - before it failsafes and thats with a good few trees between the tx and rx.

Am I right in thinking that (roughly) quadrupling tx power doubles range ??

I am trying to get some idea of theoretical range at higher power outputs (100mw) so I can find two spots in line of site at about that distance to test the theory.

(I am way out in the sticks so noisy RF environment really doesn't come into it)

Yes that`s how it works matey, but if that`s a ground test, expect to get at least 3x further in the air to what you get across the ground.

So your 0.85 test on the ground should equal 2.55 miles in the air. So 80mW will get you at least 5.1 miles no problem :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Thanks Coyote.

Lies and miles then !!!   ;)
