Tried out my HK Atom today, nice wee plane especially with a brushless upgrade, but for some reason, when I was doing a low pass, the plane went full throttle and nose dived straight into the ground. Broke off the motor pod, which I had fixed not five minutes before after I let someone else try and fly it (a complete beginner)

So I am trying to diagnose the fault, so far I am thinking that it was the FrSky gear, no failsafe kicked in, so it doesn't look like a range problem (I was only like 25m away too!), it just full throttled and full down elevator and plummeted...

Checked all the controls after the crash- worked fine!

So before I bin the FrSky module and receiver, is it possible that the 9x caused the crash?
I had a similar incident on Wednesday when FPV'ing my Bixler 2, lost control completely and spiralled to the ground, no failsafe triggered the RTH...

Hmmm, any help would be much appreciated :)

Range check it first, (expect you've done that anyway) see if you can replicate the fault on the ground. My Sky Surfer crashed and I traced it to the wire in the aerial being fractured and the hinge joint but that was on a DX6i but checking that wouldn't hurt.
Beyond those pearls of wisdom, it's over to someone else.
Now I feel windy as I have the same radio set up and I've not flown far away with it yet.
Cheers, Mark

Thanks for the advice Mark, I decided that I'm not going to risk losing my FPV ship with the GoPro onboard, so I'v ordered another 9x and the FrSky module/receiver combo... Gotta love expensive Sundays
