Hey folks, out flying with my discovery at a mates house and decided to let them have a look through the goggles and ended up in the tree's, oops!!
Lesson learned, dont give mates the goggles then try to show off!!!
WARNING!!! Some slightly colourful (Scottish) language at the end!!

TBS Discovery Crash

Damage Report:
Top Frame Split,
3 Props Broken,
Pins on EzUHF Rx Bent and Antenna snapped,

Luckily I have everything to fix it except props but have an order in so hoping they arrive tomorrow, only thing I'm concerned about is a motor, looks ok and rotates ok but it took a knock so may be bent slightly, will rebuild and have flying again tomorrow if my props arrive!!

Oh that sucked, still was lucky it dropped down to the ground to recover it

You took it pretty well :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Rudeboy

yeah got off not too bad, a few feet the other direction and it would have landed on tarmac!! had I not hit the tree I was planning on getting some footage from around and possibly inside the old water tower/pumping station, will head back up there once its fixed,

Coyote, maybe had it stuck in the tree the damage would have been a lot less and my mate's a roofer so plenty large ladders and stuff to get it down, but yeah took it well, it was inevitable that I would crash at some point just didn't think it would be so soon.. lol

Wow dude, fell from a good height there!! Sounds like you got off lightly!

Btw @ 3:17 in the bottom right of the vid you can see your skew taking one for the team - do you need it fixing or did it make it though ok?

Teamftp

I bet those few second when it got tangled in the tree were the worst. You know it is doomed yet you have that slight hope it may pop out!!
Loads of cool FPV stuff on our Facebook Group, like it today:

Flyn I think the skew is OK, I'll double check and get back to ye,

Teamftp, yeah there was a second when I thought it was clear so powered up to climb out but once it hit the branch above I just powered down and accepted the inevitable.

It was going so well - feel for you that it ended the way it did. At least it eventually landed upright! :)

Colourful Scottish language indeed.  ;D

I was trying to guess from the high up shots where you were flying from. Is that the North Esk in the background?

You might recognise these places which are not too far from you.

Hey mate, yes that was the north esk, flying from just behind sunnyside hospital up the back of hillside,
yep recognise the pics, first one is jonshaven or gourdon I think!!(always get them mixed up) and second one is Arbroath,

Where you from mate?

Johnshaven it was. I have family there, and Arbroath, Montrose and even Hillside.

I stay in Pitmedden, Aberdeenshire (pic attached flying from the village park). It's a few miles inland but if anything I prefer coastal flying.

Cool cool dude, were gonna have to organise a meet sometime in the summer, there's a few of us now within a few hours drive of each other,

Good news, Discovery is rebuilt, had a quick test flight in the back garden and all seems ok, didn't want to push it as its rather windy, will hopefully get back out tomorrow if the weather is playing nice!!!
