Woah Woah Woah Woah (That's English for Stop a horse)

Take OUT the stock motor.... put in a 2200KV one....

The stock motor is RUBBISH, I have one of these, and was trying to FPV, but the motor just can NOT fly the plane with FPV gear on.... I have some videos on here of its performance...

Check em out....

Hi and cheers, but I have a 2200kv in my zagi great performance but run time is to low, with this setup I can get 30mins plus on a 2200mah battery. the cockpit fully installed is only 100g more that stock so I am hoping it will be ok, I am not looking for vertical climb more like a floater. If I do do find its not up to the job I will be changing it for a lower kv something around 1400kv and a bigger prop.

Always run the biggest prop you can fit on a pusher config, without going over current on ESC and motor, as it will improve efficiency a lot.

Trust me, you'll find the stock motor is poor! You'll need FULL throttle to keep the thing in the air! :)

Good luck with it tho!

OK just come back from the field, as a dry run everything worked ok. I had a problem with video see my other post but apart from that the plane flew well, set up the gps PA and RTH, that was a but scarcely as when it circles it seems to have a diameter of around 300m, does this sound about right?

As for the motor, it ran fine was happy at 1/2 throttle with full throttle at take off to gain height fast, ok will will not climb straight up but I am happy with that at the moment.

That's made me happy - I've got a newly built Bix 2 ready to maiden with a similar FPV setup.  The motor has been worrying me as people kept on moaning about it.  I hope to go into the maiden with a little more confidence now

electricmick

Glad it flies well, 300m is OK for a circle about home, you can increase gain to tighten it up if you wish. You will probably find that on a windy day it tends to be blown downwind a bit as it tries to turn upwind, conversely it turns very quickly downwind, so the plane tends to fly an oval offset downwind, again not a problem.
