10 uh inductor and piano wire (think it was size 4 ??) is what you need

10uH seems to be a popular choice for the inductor, going by some of the other threads on this subject
GBD models (no longer in existence) sold a 7" whip with this inductor, but they are really easy and cheap to make yourself, as you have shown dh.

The jet and heli flyers also used base loaded whip antennae before 2.4 came along, so there must be some info out there on what they did.
