DJI Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-2D gimbal for GoPro Hero 3

Hi all.
I am thinking of getting the DJI Phantom 2 and the Zenmuse H3-2D Gimbal.
I have a GoPro Hero 2 and want to know if I can use it on this gimbal?
I have gone through all the thread and don't seem to see anything about other GoPros.
If it has to be the Hero 3, more expense.  :(

The gimbal is balanced for the mass of the Hero3, the securing strap is sized for the Hero3 and the gimbal backplate plugs into the large connector on the back of the camera.
