I have happily flown conventional radio-controlled models for a few years now.  Last Spring I went along to a meeting organised by Simon at a school near Doncaster, just to see what FPV was all about.  I had a great time, and the lectures were really good, but it's starting to cost me now !

After the meeting, I built a basic quad with KK board, flew it, crashed it, repaired it, flew it, crashed it.....etc.  Bloody hard to fly, aren't they?  A couple of months ago, I gave up and bought a DJI Phantom quad (mark 1, when the prices came down after the new model was released).  It's cheating a bit, as the barometer and the electronics do most of the work, but it's convinced me that the hexacopter I'm currently building must have a Naza in it.

I've now installed an Immersion video transmitter and Sony 700 line camera in my Phantom, and bought the new Skyzone goggles.  The combination seems to work very well, despite reading afterwards that the goggles and the transmitter combination are not ideal.

Anyway, Simon, you've cost me a fair bit of money, and I've a feeling that it's only just the start !

Keep up the great work.

Trevor

PS  Are you doing another similar meeting at the school this Spring?
