Zephyr 2 - push rods etc

I'm finally trying to get my Z2 build finished.

When i first bought all the bits (back in 2012!) i found a thread which recommended these clevises and attachments, but i can't for the life of me find it now...

so just wondered what the current thinking is on attaching the pushrods to the elevons and whether anyone has guidance on how long (centre-to-centre of clevis) the pushrods should be.

...and how much travel up and down i should have?

I always go with 3mm carbon pushrod set from Irvine on my big/fast wings. Ever since my first Z2 went through a tree and the rod got snagged and ripped a branch off the tree, managed to fly and land safely with the huge branch still wedged in. I have suffered similar with metal rods and they bend and stay bent.

Of course, if you don't fly through trees you will be fine :)

If my memory serves me right the rod is around 15cm using the pre-moulded servo holes.

max up and down deflection is about +/- 2cm from centre measured from outer end of the elevon.

I use those horns/clevice in conjunction with the Irvine M3 carbon pushrod set http://www.inwoodmodels.com/index.php?id_product=6341&controller=product
The carbon rod will need to be cut to a length of 146mm before adding the ends. I use slow epoxy to glue the ends.

I have about 10-12mm of elevator deflection both up and down with 15mm deflection on aileron.
