The weather has been a bit to windy to fly so I've been tinkering :)

I recently bought a HD19 Pan+Tilt unit which would actually make a fantastic roll/tilt system if mounted at 90 degrees but I don't use a landing gear so decided I just wanted the 'tilt part' as the unit its self has some excellent vibration dampening properties.

The pan part of the unit was used for my poor-mans antenna tracker I'm working on but here's the tilt part mounted to my F450 using a single M8 rubber damper (available on eBay for a quid). I did have to trim down the thread on the other side of the damper to allow the camera to tilt properly and the lock nut is screwed on upside-down which means its slightly counter sunk through the original pan shaft hole.

I also had a little experiment with an old GoPro HD Hero 2 lens as I fancied a bit more of a wider angle view on my flying wing (as the camera is fixed) and I believe the apertureis slightly bigger on the GoPro lens and the IR filter not so strong which will hopefully make for a lighter video.

The GoPro lens screws straight into the HD19 body but I was unable to screw it in far enough to focus the lens correctly so I simply removed 1mm from the face of the camera body and a'voila it works a treat :)

Here's a quick video on the quad, the extra damping has definitely cleaned up my video :)

Quick test of new camera mount.
