Just got this working and Im well impressed.

EzOSD transmits telemetry data via the audio channel on your video transmitter, ground station receives audio signal. Iphone plugs into ground station audio feed and the ITelemetry app listens to the transmitted data signal  .... pretty simple

As well as having LIVE tracking on my iphone itelemetry map which shows my iphone position, launch position and plane position it also logs the entire flight data so I can overlay this onto google earth (see images) and even simulate the flight.

I have already tested it to locate the plane in long grass just this morning, It was only 20m away but out of sight and the iphone led me straight to it :)

Im liking that! Think im going to have to get myself a setup like this.

Thanks

I've had this feature for a while too using their Tiny Telemetry, I had given up on the iPhone for a while I just couldn't get it to work during their Beta test; it turned out that some of the cables sold were wired wrong. They had a recall for all the cables and I must have been the last one to find out.

I've now got it all working on the Ursus that's still waiting for the maiden; I've missed every good flying day so far, I hope this week end holds out though.

I just like the idea of live tracking, as im not to sure if im using goggles or screen yet, so if i go down the screen route, this would be handy.

Now iPhone functionality is just cool.

Anything for Android?  I was going to change to Android (I have an iPhone 3GS atm) at the end of the year.

nothing for android, I swapped from android to iphone for this

can you just use a normal stereo jack to phono audio cable or do you have to buy one specially for it?

cheers

you buy a special cable, i got mine from firstpersonview this app is also available on ipad, be aware you need the internet to get the maps downloaded, you can pre cache therm. I do on my phone then switch into into airplane mode for the flight so it doesnt interfere with my ground station

Ok so whats the difference between a normal mono audio cable and the one that you buy from fpv?

so the phone itself needs to be connected to the internet through 3G to access the google maps whilst out in the field?

How can the phone interfere with the ground station, does this only apply to persons using 900mhz video? im on 2.4 by the way

what do you mean by pre cache therm? im assuming this saves the location for when you are not connected?

cheers for the response est1976

The audio cable is just a normal cable but there is a need for a tiny circuit at the jack end of the cable; during the Beta testing immersionRc had provided a drawing for those who want to make one. I had a look on their website but I couldn't find it.

"I would recommend buying the cable from Simon, it's the best way now of making sure you have the right kit for the job"
