Not to be a cheap-skate or anything, but having managed to destroy a few of my little FrSky antennas - example here, notice a good one Vs one that got in a argument with a prop

As it's just the exposed active that counts in these, can I just remove the outer covering of the mangled one to expose 32mm (or so) and it'll work ?

Yes, ultimately I'll just buy some more, but just in case I run low in a hurry (as the cat has taken one out as well)

Yes just expose 30mm of the inner element and they are good to go Wayne
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

That's very interesting - I have a bunch of these that have suffered the same fate .. I always assumed they had to be a certain length.

Well I figured it might be ok, as you can get 40cm ones without the sleeve dipoles - so just the exposed ends are the same.  I would guess it's easier to block the signal of course, but you'd obviously want to pick where you'd put one of the shorter antennas
