Hi Guys, as some of you know, I have been using 40mhz for flight (:o).
I have now got a JR X-378 and a GWS GWR-8M, however this is a low range (300m) RX.
I am looking for something that supports RSSI mods, has decent range, 7 channels and it would be nice if it was synthesised. I was looking at the Corona RP8D1.
Thanks

300m on the ground will be a lot more in the air

Still doesn't seem like a lot, looking at a corona
QuoteRS810II has improved the receiving range as far as 1.5Km (checking range on ground).

But how much do you reckon it would be?
Thanks

Use this one:

It is great. Cheap as socks, much better interference wise than more expensive receivers, and it is synthesized and things. They're very good. I use one. Most people use them.

I have several Corona RP8D1 receivers all purchased from Giantcod and they work well. Do not use above channel 80 as there is some problem with locking on to the higher channels. Occasionally I have a minor problem when locking on to a channel for the first time but once done there are no further problems.
As regards range, if you install properly with the aerial wire extended as fully as possible you will have control as far as the eye can safely see. Beyond that you are into a no-go area as far as regulation goes in this country.

Thanks guys. I think I will get a RP8D1, I am using ch 71 so it shouldn't be a problem.
I was planning on a few mods too, i am going to make the Areal 1/4 Wavelength and add RSSI. output on the 8th channel, and also connect by 6V NIMH to the RX to ensure continued power if flight Lipo fail, as well as connecting said batt to Elogger.
Thanks for input guys

Unless they have changed the instructions for the Corona RP8D1 they may be a little hard to follow as they are in 'Chinglish'. Try these by Devonian on the GiantCod forum.

Only use channels between 60 to 80.

I forgot I'd posted that on the big fish forum.

Thumbs up from me on the RP8D1

Personally, I've never played with aerial lengths, but here are some interesting facts by Mr Rc-Cam
