Hey,

I've been building various kit for a good year now and I still suffer from messing up CA bottles! I have a love/hate relationship with CA as it's really convenient but the downside is that I find it's hard to keep the containers nice and clean. I have probably lost about 50% of my CA because of this.

I've today purchased 3x 2oz CA of 3 different thicknesses and I'm determined to not clog the bottles up or have tonnes of hardened CA under the cap!

Does anyone have tips (or links) to how to properly use CA bottles frequently without clogging the rest of the container up?

Wipe the spout round with a lint free rag or reinforced paper towel immediately after application. (Add some acetone to the rag for best results) Keep the bottle cool and out of sunlight at all times.

EDIT: And always replace the cap immediately after application

Also give the bottle a good tap on the workbench to get the glue out of the nozzle

Apart from the above tips about wiping the spout and tapping the bottle, here are another couple of tips:

If the bottle is elliptical in cross section squeeze gently across major axis. This increases the internal volume and sucks excess glue back in.

Try and find a bottle with a pin embedded in the cap as this keep the nozzle clear when the cap is screwed back on.
