Not sure, I've never used solar film before

if you lam it, take into consideration that this may change the CofG. not too much of an issue in the EVO as it has a nose so batteries and other things can be moved more up front. if you do the stock versa blunt nose you can lam that too making it super tough and resistant to water. it would help with the finger dents too.

Why not do something like the rite wing drak and design a swept forward wing from foam board? that's a project I'd love to do.

Man every time I get a reply or look at something else I find a new project to build. That Drak is cool looking. Pitty he didn't get his kickstarter funding. Maybe he should run it again. Would love to get a set of plans. Living in China at the moment so maybe freighting half way around the world is not going to work :-(

Been thinking about materials and design. I like the idea of the pod in the middle. Thinking it could have some light ply structure so the whole middle could be fairly open. Lots of space for batteries electrics etc. Also maybe possible to have detachable wings for transport. Maybe some carbon tubes to slide together. EPP or similar is very tough just very flexi. maybe with it laminated and a carbon wing spar or 2 will be a fairly good option.

I can tell you now mate, having just laminated my Falcon EVO FPV wing, that once you laminate EPP it's no longer flexi. The laminate not only sticks to the foam but it then hardens itself... I swear this thing feels like it's fibreglass coated or something.

Cool thanks. Leaning that way now for sure. Pitty I cant buy these wings here. Kinda keen to have a crack at making myself as well.

Are you elevons trimmed down a bit near the centre or is that how they come?

I have a Teksumo I dont really fly anymore. Might give laminating that a go.

Do you mind showing me a pic of that wing with the lid open so I can see your layout inside. Looks like a good setup.

The elevons come like that from Flyingwings.co.uk

There's nothing in it at the moment, I only finished the construction last night, but here's how much room there is inside:

the front area is big enough for a 2200mah 3S, I've even got some 2200mah 4S that fit in there too.

The larger area in the middle would be for your flight controller and/or OSD. I'm not having an autopilot in this one just yet, I'm just having a cyclops breeze OSD, so there will be lots of unused space

Have you tried emailing Rob at flying wings too see if he can send you one to China?
