Hi Andy,

A quad wing is on the drawing board, quite hard to make an elegant design, will take much head scratching, included in APM lastest code !

Might be worth looking into a Tricopter version, though I dont know if that is supported yet

Looks like a fun alternative. Howvere he has had to put the motors at wingtips and take care that c.g doesnt move as the motors rotate and keep everything light. Howver you need a beefier wing if the motors are at tips. As the main use I can see is for deliveries the ability to carry load is an issue. Ideally for efficiency in normal flight you want a high aspect ratio wing. If you moved the motors on plane in vid to more conventional position ( e.g like a twin) and rotate wing then c.g moves quite a bit as motors rotate. OTOH With 3 or more motors spread out in x,y you can use motors to counteract any c.g change as plane moves between VTOL and plane modes.

That said, the VTOL field is young so it is good to explore all possibiities!
