Well I suppose it has to be better than having an eagles legs chopped off by carbon blades and it is likely to be more effective than aerial drone combat with a net carrying drone.

The range doesn't look that good.

They really put some effort into the ad :)
Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

It's kinda setup in that it would be easier to jog across the field and take down the pilot....

Haha brilliant

It's lucky that "drones" can't travel quickly otherwise the whole pulling the car up, getting the smartwall 100 out of the car, unpacking it and then taking aim would render it completely useless.

Oh wait...

These videos are fantastic and the fact that they're serious makes it even more entertaining.

We've had:
A radio jammer which ignores the fact that most drones use 2.4GHz with frequency hopping, and, if signal IS blocked, they have RTH via GPS. Also takes out the entire neighbourhood wifi (brilliant!)
A flying drone with net (which will also crash if the net takes hold because the target will drag the acquisition drone down with it)
A golden eagle trained to capture a drone, which will end up legless and sliced due to the drone propellers
A crap rocket launcher-esque net throwing device which depends on the drone waiting to be captured while it's unpacked.

What's next? :D

TBH they don't need to work that well as long as they are seen as a deterrent by people who are planning to fly quads in stupid places (airports etc) they are doing there job.

I am developing a jetski designed to capture drones. First tests look promising and I cant see any problem having one of these at every major airport.

Guys, how about equipping all passenger jets with Sidewinders with optical character recognition heads. They could be set to lock onto "DJI", "Parrot", "Yunec" etc. No RF interference, no legless eagles, no setup time. That's got to be a better solution all round.

What about .... A compressed air launched eagle that drops a net on the drone instead ? :)

I quite fancy a Skywall 100, but to use with rolled up socks instead.  It would make doing the laundry brilliant fun...
