is Windows 10 worth it

Can any of you Win 10 experts tell me which versions of Sony Movie Studio or Vegas work with Win 10 please? I cannot get my Movie Studio 9 to open any .AVI or .MOV  files as win 10 does not support Quick Time (or the other way round). I get this message

It looks like Apple no longer wants QuickTime to run on Windows.

I have just read that it you need the QuickTime plugin to run it with custom install options.

It does install but may not have full functionality. (according to Apple.)

I haven't installed win 10 so I'll not be much help.

But you could try installing vlc player.
That's will play anything and may install it's own plugin that the editing software might be able to take advantage of.

Apparently the windows movie maker from the 2012 window essentials works with win 10. I'll need to try it and report back. I have had a suggestion that this is a good editing suite. http://www.magix.com/us/movie-edit-pro/
Anyone had any experience of it with win 10 or any ms system?

The free upgrade to win10 ends july 29, does anyone know when you update from win7 do you have to reload all your software or does it remain fully working after the update?

The preinstalled software for the most part should stay where it is, as the upgrade is not a clean install but it upgrades/overwrites the Windows OS elements on the Hard Drive.

Having said that, you may have software that won't work or disappear so you're best to check with the software provider before upgrading.

Also check to see if your motherboard and processor are up to it as well.

I've had the new computer up and running for 2 weeks now and apart from a few bugs and having to think where I have put files everything seems smooth enough. Some annoying bugs that I cannot stop which seem common at the moment are, task bar won't auto hide, despite telling the OS that I don't want to sign in when I wake the computer up it ignores me and makes me sign in, on wake up the home screen locks up and the computer auto reboots, I also hate Outlook, and I cannot get Live Mail to work.
