Help required - Rescue of a Project

I have a Raptor 1.5m. Bought from hobby King about 3 years ago, just before the birth of my first child, he's now 2 years 10 months. You'll have no time everyone told me. Nahhh, I didn't believe them. Now with the birth of my second child at 7 months old and setting up a new business I have no time to finish the project but am desperate for a few FPV flying days.

I have immersion VTX and RTX. A hobbyKing 6" screen and EPS case for the viewer (could not afford FatShark for the first attempt at FPV). No flight stabilisation and no GPS or RTH. Basic for the first foray into FPV. Using a JR Helicopter X3810 with an FRsky 2.4ghz transmitter conversion and an FRsky Rx. I have all the kit for the plane to finish it.

The plane has been built and crashed on its maiden, see Pics. Had its maiden flight without any FPV kit fitted. It has been repaired and modified to accept rubber bands as the wing fix method with a new tray for the battery. I think that it was not correctly COG balanced, was not thrown hard enough and did not have enough throttle. It had a wing stall, went in and snapped the wing as well as broke the battery tray .  I have since bought the COG kit to hold the plane on a stand. I understand that there was an issue with the trust angle and full throttle would cause a dive until the airspeed increased and lift overcame downward thrust. I have now changed the motor mount to the revised unit and changed the motor for an increased output unit. I took some advice from on here at FPVhub and Youtube to decide on the Motor.

I am looking for some help from an experienced FPVer to complete the build, for a nominal fee, pre-agreed. I do not expect something for nothing. I would like to go and fly FPV on the rare occasion I can get a Saturday morning without the Kids or wife and go fly with a buddy of mine who I flew RC helicopters with. when I had time, pre kids, wife and business. I got him into planes as I bought him a Max thrust Riot as a present for being my best man at my wedding. He has since gone to a DJI Quadcopter (the dark side  :o)

Someone near Stamford Lincs. I would propose that I deliver the kit. If the person is a bit further away I would post or courier. I am nervous of shipping to someone I do not know and not knowing where my plane and ancillaries are. However, I do need to take a leap of faith to finish this.

Is there someone out there on this forum who has the time, inclination and willingness (and wants a small fee) to rescue a project that has been sitting on the shelf for over 2 years, leaving one Dad very frustrated...about not being able to fly.

Thanks to Dillwhacker, conversation has been had, stories swapped. Found out that although we live maybe 60 miles apart we work in the same town. Plan has been made and we will meet sometime next week. Dillwhacker a very gracious person who did not want any payment. Maybe able to temp him with a Tony Nijhuis 63" spit kit and under carriage that was been sitting around in my garage for a very long time.

Mr G, this is still the same project that you helped me out with previously, oh so long ago, in identifying that the VTx was faulty. I'm still at it (the project that is) and have another child now as well.

I haven't given up the idea of flying yet. Thanks for your help last time, I (I mean Dillwhacker  :D) will get this plane in the air and under goggles (well a screen and Fresnel lens anyway).

My eldest son is Plane mad, I mean seriously addicted. I will be great when he's a little older to go flying with him. would give me much pleasure.

Thanks to all on here who have got me to this point in a very protracted project.  :)

Good god wiggles.... that was eons ago lol but glad to have helped out... and its good to see on the forum that others put a little back into the hub as well.
To me it's what this forum is about and can't thank some of the people enough who helped me out in the past...

Well, I've just come off the phone with Trev and he is unable to complete the build, for very understandable and justifiable reasons. Thank-you Trev for your good intentions.

LOL well finally James & I got together and he had his first ever FPV flight on a Teksumo wing - talk about a duck-to-water  ;D
Flew like a pro pilot and landed perfect first time... :P

What a truly awesome afternoon flying.   I had the most fun I have had in ages. A few nerves in the beginning but relaxed into it. Great wing (Thanks Trevor) must be the quality of the build that that assisted in the learning. The final flight with both of us up together and chasing your plane for the the last few circuits. truly, truly awesome. I will have to see if I can be let out more regularly to have a fly. What a day!!!!

A compelling argument for passing the baton. With of course one small technical hitch ....

With Wiggles getting other people to build his project for him means he could not be given the title of "builder" at all. So I'm afraid Tim you are still our current title holder:)
